Customers who ordered products through Makro’s online store have complained to MyBroadband and on HelloPeter that their purchases were not delivered as promised.
One of the complainants who recently contacted MyBroadband stated that he ordered a TV during the Cyber Monday sale at the end of November.
After not receiving his TV following 2 weeks of waiting, the customer was told by Makro it no longer had stock.
Similar complaints were posted on HelloPeter about purchases made towards the end of 2015 which were not fulfilled.
Makro spoke to MyBroadband about the complaints, stating that its Cyber Monday sale “exceeded expectations on certain lines”, and that online shopping in SA was growing in popularity.
“This is naturally putting a lot of pressure on the supply chain and in some cases we have had to source stock from suppliers or move products between stores in order to meet customer demand,” said Makro.
“We had a few products that were oversold on the day but we have been able to fulfill 99% of these orders so far by securing additional stock from suppliers or by offering alternatives to customers who placed orders on the day.”
“We will continue with this process until all outstanding issues are resolved.”
