Mercer has released the results of its 19th Quality of Living survey, ranking cities around the world.
Three South African cities were included in Mercer’s Quality of Living rankings, with Durban the highest-ranked city locally and 87th worldwide.
Cape Town was ranked at 94 and Johannesburg was ranked at 96.
Vienna was ranked highest for quality of living for the eighth year running.
The top five highest-ranked cities in the Middle East and Africa region were Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Port Louis, Durban, and Cape Town.
The three lowest-ranked cities in the region were Sana’a in Yemen, Bangui in the Central African Republic, and Baghdad in Iraq.
