Recent reports that one of the suspects in the OR Tambo cash heist was arrested after buying a new Lamborghini are incorrect, stated EWN.
One of the suspects arrested at a luxurious Centurion estate was in possession of a Lamborghini and a large amount of cash.
TimesLive reported that the suspect was arrested hours after posting pictures of himself on social media with the new Lamborghini.
The vehicle was reportedly purchased three years ago by businessman Tando Sonqishe, who appeared in court alongside four other suspects over the cash heist, said EWN.
EWN reported that Sonqishe has been in the news before thanks to expensive cars, when in 2015 he sued a car dealership for refusing to return a R1.1-million deposit for a Porsche 911.
Men standing next to the Lamborghini in photos following the arrests have also been reported as police investigators, not suspects.
