Dimension Data outlines its forecast for 2019 tech trends

Dimension Data

Dimension Data has released its Tech Trends 2019 report, which outlines industry trends it believes will define the business technology landscape next year.

Developed by a team of Dimension Data technology experts, it covers a variety of business technology areas including cybersecurity, services, customer experience, and digital infrastructure.

“Until now, our industry has spoken about innovative technologies somewhat theoretically,” said group CTO Ettienne Reinecke.

“That’s starting to change. The application of disruptive technologies is becoming more pervasive and their adoption is growing steadily,” he said.

“2019 is the year that trailblazers will pull away from fast-followers and we start to see significant power shifts across industries.”

Key trends identified by the report include:

  • Robotic process automation – including machine learning, AI, and heuristic neural networks.
  • Cloud-based cybersecurity – built with open APIs, which allows faster and simpler technology integration.
  • Intelligent and customised applications – they will gather input and change their own functionality accordingly.
