GlobalSign investigating hacker claims
The hacker, who claimed responsibility for breaching security systems at digital certificate issuing authority DigiNotar, boasted breaching GlobalSign’s security systems in a statement he released regarding the recent hacks.
GlobalSign has released a statement responding to these allegations, which reads, “GlobalSign takes this claim very seriously and is currently investigating. As a responsible CA (certificate authority), we have decided to temporarily cease issuance of all Certificates until the investigation is complete. We will post updates as frequently as possible.”
The company also said that they had hired Dutch security experts Fox-IT to aid their investigations as a precautionary measure as they assess the hacker’s claims.
