Adobe brings flash to iPhone, iPad
Adobe unveiled the Flash Media Server 4.5 and Flash Access 3.0 products at the IBC trade show in Amsterdam last Friday (9 September).
The new products will allow iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users access to Adobe flash content online.
In addition the new technology doesn’t need to be approved by Apple for use on their devices.
“With Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5, media publishers now have a single, simple workflow for delivering content using the same stream to Flash-enabled devices or to the Apple iPhone and iPad,” Adobe said in a statement.
Flash Media Server 4.5 allows flash content to be streamed directly to iOS devices, which means flash support in the Safari mobile web browser is unnecessary.
Flash Media Server is available immediately to publishers and will retail for $4,500 (R32,627).
