iCloud backups will be reset for iOS 5 release

Apple warned developers, who have access to the iOS 5 beta, that the iCloud Backup data services would be reset on Thursday, September 22.  iCloud Backup services would only be available again from 5pm PDT that day.

The post indicates that Apple is preparing its servers for the public release of iOS 5 and iCloud within the next couple of weeks, with final changes implemented during the downtime.

iOS 5 is expected to receive golden master status ahead of the expected early- to mid-October release of the new Apple hardware which could include iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 models which will run the new operating system.
