Microsoft working on Windows Phone SMS flaw fix
A bug on Windows Phones that allows an SMS message to disable the messaging app and reboot the phone has been confirmed as legitimate by Microsoft.
Microsoft have confirmed that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.
According to Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for the Windows Phone division at Microsoft, “We are aware of the issue and our engineering teams are examining it now. Once we have more details, we will take appropriate action to help ensure customers are protected.”
The method to achieve the exploit was not revealed by WinRumors who uncovered the issue, and according to reports it is not security related. An update that will address the issue should be released over-the-air within the next few weeks.
