Android used to access Facebook more than iPhone

According to stats compiled by AppData, Facebook for Android has around 58.3 million average daily users, higher than the 57.4 million Apple iPhone users that make use of the same app for the first time.

The Facebook for Android app was released a full year after it’s iOS counterpart, and still trails behind in terms of monthly average users with 85.4 million as opposed to 99.1 million for the iOS app.

However, Android once again trumps iOS when it comes to the number of users who use the app more than once per day. Android sits at 68.2 percent while iOS is slightly behind at 57.9 percent.

Interestingly, the number of Android based devices being activated every day is now over 550,000, up from 500,000 in June 2011, and 400,000 in May 2011.
