Apple apps crash more than Android apps
Apple iOS applications are more prone to crashing than their Android counterparts according to a study by mobile app monitoring company Crittercism.
Crittercism collected the data between December 1 and 15 last year, across 23 different versions of iOS and 33 different Android versions.
Apple’s latest version of iOS (5.0.1) reported the highest number of application crashes, accounting for 28.64 percent of all crashes recorded. This version of the OS is still relatively new however, and could report such a high percentage thanks to applications which have not yet been updated to support it properly.
Older versions of iOS were also prone to high application crashes. iOS 4.2.1 was responsible for 12.64 percent of all crashes, iOS 4.3.3 experienced 10.66 percent, and iOS 4.1 had 8.24 percent of total crashes.
The company collected data from more than 214 million applications.
