Google hires top Apple exec for secret project
Apple’s former senior director of product integrity has been hired by Google to work on an unknown project according to a report by VentureBeat.
Simon Prakash worked for Apple for more than 8 years where he was responsible for quality control across numerous product ranges.
Prakash will now be working at Google’s “X lab” on a project headed up by Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
Speculation around the project suggests that it could be hardware related, and is in some way linked to the search giant’s pending acquisition of Motorola Mobility.
Google’s hiring of Prakash comes at a time when both Google and Apple are being investigated by the Department of Justice after accusations that the companies were part of an illegal “no staff poach” agreement.
