It’s Beamers versus Benzes at the DoC

Communications minister Dina Pule lost the battle to hold on to her luxury Mercedes-Benz 4x4s, and now has to make do with two zooped up BMW 750i’s left behind by former minister Siphiwe Nyanda.
According to the Sunday Times there was a battle between Pule and former deputy communication minister Obed Bapela over two Mercedes-Benz ML 4x4s which Pule purchased when she became deputy minister of performance, monitoring and evaluation in the Presidency.
Pule apparently tried to hang on to the two Mercedes-Benz 4x4s after being promoted to communications minister, saying that she preferred a vehicle with better ground clearance.
Bapela took over Pule’s previous role, and the two Mercedes-Benz 4x4s were supposed to have remained behind for Bapela.
Pule was supposed to start using the two BMW 750i cars that were “controversially bought by former communications minister Siphiwe Nyanda for R1.1-million each”, states the Sunday Times.
In the end Pule handed over her two prized Mercedes-Benz ML cars after the Presidency said that a car swap was not possible.
