Microsoft

Software giant Microsoft has prohibited employees in the Sales, Marketing, Services, IT, and Operations Group (SMSG) from buying Apple products with company funds.

This is according to ZDNet, who reported on an email from a top SMSG executive.

The email,  allegedly from chief financial officer of SMSG Alain Crozier stated, “Within SMSG we are putting in place a new policy that says that Apple products (Mac & iPad) should not be purchased with company funds.”

The company’s SMSG division consists of more than 46,000 employees worldwide, and includes consumer and business sales staff.

Microsoft’s previous policies include preventing employees from using iPhones and BlackBerry devices.

In 2010 the company started supplying workers with free Windows Phone-based devices.
