Facebook testing paid features

Facebook is currently testing a new feature which allows users to pay in order to highlight a post or status update.

The new system lets users promote their posts by adding the highlight feature, which will make the post stand out as a featured update to friends and other users.

Users of the social network can choose whether to use the service and further make payments through PayPal or credit card.

The change comes as a result of the company’s forthcoming IPO, which has speculated to be at around $100 billion (R8,19 billion).

The feature will allow the company to generate greater revenue, while also providing users with better utility.
