Apple has posted a job listing for a lead engineer to focus on connector designs.
The company’s employment listing states that the position is for a ‘Connector Design Engineer’, and the tasks will involve being “responsible for managing multiple connector designs and developments in support of the iPod product lines.”
The post also elaborates, saying that it will: “involve adaptation of existing connectors or complete new designs.”
This could suggest that Apple is looking to change their long-running 30-pin dock connector which has become a staple of the company’s iPod and iPhone range.
A change in the connector design has been rumoured for quite some time now, and the listing implies that the new design process could be in motion.
