Windows to get Android apps?

Android men feature

Asus wants to makes traditional computers more Android friendly, and is partnering with developer BlueStacks to release an “App Player”.

The App Player will allow Android applications to run on the Windows OS.

The companies announced their partnership at the Computex expo in Taipei, where they revealed that BlueStacks will now be a part of the asus@vibe entertainment platform.

Asus@vibe currently ships on all Asus computers, and includes 6 months of free access to hundreds of thousands of Android applications. Once the initial 6 month period is over customers will have to pay a subscription fee to continue using all of the apps, however if they choose not to they will still be given access to the top 50 applications.

Current Asus computers will be getting the BlueStacks update on 4 June.
