Google threaten YouTube MP3 ripping sites

Google has informed two different YouTube to MP3 ripping services that they will face legal action if they do not take down their sites.

The websites allow users to enter URL’s of YouTube videos in order to extract the audio files from the videos for download.

The two particular sites in question are YouTube-MP3.org and Music-Clips.net, which have both violated the API terms of YouTube’s service.

Google, who own YouTube, are now unhappy with the websites and have given the owners 7 days to comply, although the website administrators claim that their services do not use the API to pull the audio files from the videos.
