Mozilla delivers faster Firefox for Android

Mozilla have released a new major upgrade for their Firefox web browser for Android.

The new release is not only significantly faster than previous versions, but has been redesigned from the ground-up, with a new user interface featuring enhanced widgets and controls.

The upgrade is said to be a vast improvement over the original Firefox releases on Android, which were considered slow by the community.

The first versions used standard XUL-based interfaces, but the web company have now opted to go native on Android platforms,  meaning that browsing will be faster and use Android’s widget interface.

The Firefox update for Android is now available on Google Play Marketplace.
