Google 3D cities now available

A recent Google Earth for Android update brought with it 3D imagery of various major cities.

Cities with 3D imagery include: Boston, Boulder, Charlotte, Lawrence, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Portland, Rome, San Antinio, Santa Cruz, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Tampa and Tuscon.

Google said it will add more cities to the service in the coming months, with enough to cover “a combined population of 300 million people” by the end of 2012.

The feature is not on the Apple iOS platform yet, however Google says it’s still working on it and will update Google Earth for iOS with 3D maps “soon”.
