Beats buys out MOG music streaming service

Beats Electronics have bought MOG, a music streaming platform

Beats Electronics are best known for their Dr. Dre Beats headphone range, which have grown in popularity since their release in 2009.

But the company are now looking to conquer new territory, namely the music provision market, with their acquisition of MOG.

MOG was founded in 2005 and acts as a music-themed social network and streaming platform.

The Beat Electronics’ $14 million (R114 million*) buyout will attempt to leverage the high quality music library within the Beats business model but still keep the two facets, namely the social network and streaming platform, of MOG separate.
