App Store gets first trojan app
Despite the impressions that the iOS store is invulnerable to trojans, a new malware app has found its way onto the app store.
“Find and Call” is a Russian app which first looked harmless, but has turned out to be a trojan that uploads users contact lists to a server, which then sends out SMS spam.
The app initially asks users to fill out their email and user information, but doesn’t check for validity once entered.
“Find and Call” has been removed from the iOS App Store, although many users have claimed that it’s still searchable.
This is the first malicious app that has found its way through Apple’s approval process.
