Sentech launches new fixed-wireless business solution
BizNet Xpress offers businesses an alternative to the traditional wired access media with the added convenience of a wireless network.
“The key to BizNet Xpress is in its logical simplicity,” explains Georg Wenhold, product development manager at Sentech.
“Working in a manner much like our broadcasting network, a central high-site sitting on the Sentech backbone connects to any number of antennae placed within the business campuses of client companies.”
“Using non-line of sight wireless capabilities, the high-site then provides access up to 2Mbps. It can maintain this over physical ranges of up to 20km – more than enough to cover most cities.”
BizNet Xpress operates in the regulated 3.5GHz frequency band, the most commonly licensed band globally, and meets the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) technical standards that are required by the majority of regulatory bodies that license the 3.5GHz band.
It uses techniques like dynamic bandwidth allocation, high-order modulation schemes and error correction to maximise spectral efficiency, thereby ensuring that the real data rate delivered to customers is more than 80% of the ‘over-the-air’ data rate.
“At its heart though, BizNet is a Cisco Powered, carrier-lass broadband IP/MPLS network providing full Quality of Service (QoS) to our subscribers,” says Wenhold.
“It is therefore able to offer reliable, purpose-built VPNs across the network, which can be custom-designed for business data and multimedia application requirements, whilst remaining flexible and scalable to meet the changing business needs of the client.”
BizNet Xpress is currently being made available to businesses as an access only service, as a Diginet replacement, or as an integrated service that complements existing infrastructure by providing failover and/or redundancy.
