Sentech Responds to MyWireless Article
There is no other wireless broadband provider in the market offering an “eat all you can” service, because of the costs of running such a service. While some users may feel indignant because they are paying for their Classic product, they have to understand that the total Classic user base’s monthly subscriptions do not cover the costs of the bandwidth they are consuming.
Users who are in a contract have the option to continue with their present contract, on the proviso that they keep under the soft limits of 10, 20 and 40GB for the standard, professional and premium products, respectively, but should they wish to exceed these limits, they can do so and pay 50c an additional megabyte thereafter.
This rate is the lowest out of a bundle of rates by any competitor that offers an option for users to purchase additional data per megabyte.
Sentech made the decision for the benefit of the broader base of Classic customers. With the Flexi product being a cheaper option for 85% of the Classic user base, it makes sense to move them to it.
Lastly, it is a mere handful of power users who are protesting. The broader base will more than likely be very happy with the cheaper option.
Also, the additional saving of bandwidth will enable us to offer an improved service to Flexi users. Sentech will also substantially increase the Flexi product’s download speed in the near future.
