Hellkom versus Telkom
When searching for ‘Telkom’ using the worlds most popular and accurate search engine Google, Hellkom shows up third, only to be outdone by two of Telkom’s own web pages.
Hellkom, a website started by Gregg Stirton back in 2004, rates higher than Telkom’s own ISP, TelkomInternet.
“If anyone ever had a doubt about Google’s powah, worry no more. If you do a web search for ‘Telkom’, Hellkom comes up #2 – right after the almighty Telkom’s #1 position. If you do an SA search, Hellkom slips in at #3…not bad at all… imagine how the Telkom bigwigs must be feeling,” Stirton jokes on his Hellkom website.
Google rakings are widely seen as an authoritative way of assessing the importance of a website in relation to certain keywords, and according to this measurement Hellkom is making its way up the ladder when it comes to Telkom.
