SolarWinds ‘improves network visibility and performance’

Network engineers continually face the substantial challenge of maintaining performance and availability of enterprise-class networks without sufficient knowledge of which users and which applications are consuming network bandwidth, and without adequate visibility into anomalous patterns of network traffic that indicate malicious activities.

Without a holistic view of network bandwidth usage, network engineers cannot quickly diagnose or prevent network problems or properly match network capacity to business needs, the company says.

NetFlow Traffic Analyzer aims to address the challenge by providing rich analysis and visibility into Cisco NetFlow data. The many-layered, information views are designed to combine the best top-down information from Cisco NetFlow data with the detailed, bottom-up data of Orion’s Network Performance Monitor.

A unified console aims to provide network engineers with point-and-click access to charts and reports that deliver a clear portrait of the network traffic, thereby increasing their ability to enhance the performance, availability and security of the network, the company adds.

"With fewer resources available to manage the growing complexity of modern day networks, tools that can easily integrate network traffic analysis with availability and configuration information should find a welcome audience among many IT buyers," says Prineel Padayachy, product manager for ATS, African distributor for SolarWinds.
