Microsoft and Samsung top — Huawei last

The latest Press Pulse report shows that Microsoft and Samsung had the highest positive media sentiment and that Huawei ranked last.

Press Pulse is an artificial intelligence (AI) sentiment-measuring system for online media reports.

The system focuses on South African business reporting from top-tier publications and measures companies’ success in achieving positive exposure.

The sentiment ranking is based on the number of positive, neutral, or negative articles and the reach and influence of the publication where they are published.

Simply put, the more positive articles a company receives, the better its sentiment ranking. The inverse also holds.

The latest report for the top technology companies in the world shows that Microsoft had the highest media sentiment with a score of 64.

Samsung came in second with a sentiment score of 62, followed by Amazon with 46 and Apple with 28.

Huawei, with a strong presence in the South African market, ranked last with a media sentiment score of 25.

Press Pulse’s media sentiment score indicates the performance of a company’s media and marketing strategy.

It shows that Microsoft and Samsung have the best marketing strategy and executed it well over the last few weeks.

Amazon, which launched its marketplace in South Africa this year, also enjoyed good media and marketing exposure.

Huawei and Apple achieved the lowest media sentiment scores, showing that their marketing and PR strategies lagged behind their competitors.

The table and chart below provide an overview of the media sentiment scores of Microsoft, Samsung, Amazon, Apple, and Huawei.
