Anonymous hits UK government sites
In response to WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange’s warrant of arrest issued by the UK government, Anonymous has targeted several government websites for shutdown.
The hackstivist group claims to have launched denial-of-service attacks against the UK Justice Department, the British Prime Minister’s Number 10 website, and the Department of Work and Pension.
Anonymous has dubbed the attack campaign as #OpFreeAssange on its Twitter feed.
The Justice Department’s website was temporarily offline yesterday, assumed to be due to the attacks.
