iPhone 5 users have noticed a purple haze when taking daylight photos with Apple’s new device.
Initially appearing as a lighting issue, the problem then appeared more specific when photos were compared to the same shot using an iPhone 4S.
In response to Gizmodo reader Matt Van Gastel, Apple Support said, “Our engineering team just gave me this information and we recommend that you angle the camera away from the bright light source when taking pictures. The purple flare in the image provided is considered normal behavior for iPhone 5′s camera.”
The source of the purple glow is said to be attributed to a new coating on the iPhone 5’s camera.
