The Gauteng e-toll system will be implemented, Transport Minister Ben Martins said on Friday.

“Cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday… decided that Sanral should proceed with the implementation of e-tolling,” Martins told reporters in Pretoria.

“Today, the department of transport gazetted the toll tariffs and regulations for public comment.”

Martins said that at the end of the 30 days, after government had considered the public’s views, the final tariffs would be published.
