Apple patents page-turn animation

Apple has patented the page-turning animation, adding it to a long list of interface-related patents the company is pursuing.

The animation is seen when users read e-books and swipe to move to the next page, resulting in an animation which represents a page turning like a real book.

The patent, which is for “Display screen or portion thereof with animated graphical user interface,” represents only one of 38 different patents that have been granted to Apple this week by the USPTO.

Others include the musical note icon used in iTunes, as well as the glass staircase design used in Apple stores.
