Apple fixes dangerous Australian map error

Apple has addressed the issue found in its Maps App which caused concern with the Australian police.
The error in Apple Maps resulted in travellers getting lost in dangerous areas of the country.
The problem in question was with regards to the location positions of Mildura and Murray Sunset National Park. Although the two locations are a fair distance away from one another, Apple Maps placed the city of Mildura in the centre of the National Park.
“Police are extremely concerned as there is no water supply within the park and temperatures can reach as high as 46 degrees Celsius (114 F), making this a potentially life threatening issue,” the police said in a statement.
Apple has released an update which fixes the error and places the two locations in the right position.
