Yahoo considering Summly purchase

Nick D’Alosio

Yahoo is said to have its eyes on Summly, according to All Things D.

Summly is a news summarising app, which made its way onto the iOS App Store best-sellers list within hours of being released.

The app was created by 17-year old London resident, Nick D’Alosio, and received over $1,000,000 in funding.

Yahoo is reportedly looking into the purchase of the app, as unnamed sources said that Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has met with D’Alosio in recent weeks.

Yahoo has expressed the aim to bolster the company’s mobile portfolio, making the acquisition of Summly an attractive prospective for the web company.
