Top telecoms, mobile phone brands in SA
Results from Sunday Times’ Top Brands Survey showed that Vodacom is the top telecoms brand in South Africa, followed by MTN and Cell C.
Coca-Cola was rated as SA’s overall favourite consumer brand (Index score 94.13), followed by Koo (93.96) and KFC (90.85).

Results from the 15th edition of the survey found that for telecommunications providers, Vodacom again ranked first (76.93), followed by MTN and Cell C. Telkom and 8ta (now Telkom Mobile) were ranked at number 4 and 5.
The survey noted that MTN was first for “most spontaneously aware” and also the most used brand in the sector.

For mobile phones, Nokia again topped the list with an Index score of 83.70, far ahead of BlackBerry at 68.28.
Samsung ranked third at 61.85, followed by Apple’s iPhone at 55.89 and LG at 38.76.

The Sunday Times also ranked top brands in the social networking space, with Facebook winning out, ahead of Google+, then Twitter, and YouTube.

TV service providers were also ranked, with e-tv placing ahead of SABC1, DStv Premium, SABC2, DStc Compact, SABC3, and TopTv, last.
