Here are the Telkom shops which may be closed

Telkom announced this week that it will close some of its Telkom Direct Stores.
Telkom said it conducted detailed analyses of the financial viability of all the Telkom Direct Stores before the decision was made.
“The research has shown that it is, unfortunately, no longer viable to continue running some of the company’s 95 stores,” Telkom said.
“It is clear that significant cost efficiencies can be realised by closing down these unviable stores.”
It is currently unclear how many job losses there may be due to the Telkom Direct Stores closures.
Trade union Solidarity said the Telkom notice only refers to the possible closure of 20 Telkom Direct Stores, and fails to mention the number of affected employees.
According to the Telkom notice, the following Telkom stores have been identified for closure.
- Long Beach Mall
- Malmesbury
- Paarl
- Pinetown
- Welkom
- Bethlehem
- Klerksdorp
- Thohoyandou
- Tzaneen
- Witbank
- Polokwane
- Woodlands Flagship (amalgamation)
- TTN/HO Direct
- Silverton
- Uitenhage
- Jeffrey’s Bay
- Upington
- East Gate
- West Gate
- Vereeniging
MyBroadband asked Telkom for comment regarding these store closures, but the company said it could not comment on the issue.
“We have agreed to a process with Organised Labour whereby we will only discuss the detail, pertaining to these projects in the formal consultation process which begins on Friday,” said Jacqui O’ Sullivan, Telkom’s managing executive for group communication.
“We choose to respect that agreed upon process.”
