ICASA CCC hearings
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) today invited all interested parties to public hearings on the Rules and Procedures of the Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC).
The CCC is a statutory body established in terms of Section 17 of the ICASA Act to, among others, investigate, hear and make findings on all matters referred to it by the Authority, complaints received by it and allegations of non-compliance with this Act or the underlying statutes received by it.
ICASA published a notice in the Government Gazette No 32884 on 22 January 2010 conveying its intention to prescribe regulations in respect of the rules and procedures for the adjudication of complaints and resolution of disputes referred to the CCC.
The hearings will take place on 20 May at the ICASA Offices in Sandton, and Neotel, Telkom, MultiChoice, Vodacom, MTN and Sentech are expected to make oral presentations.
