ICASA hiking spectrum licence fees

ICASA has announced price increases for spectrum licence fees and general licence fees.

Radio frequency spectrum licence fees and all administrative fees associated with applications and registrations relating to service licences will be increased by 5.3% on 1 April.

Its tariff increase is based on the consumer price index, said ICASA.

This means the unit price per MHz paired for radio frequency spectrum licences will increase from R2,226 to R2,344.

Fees to apply for the amendment or transfer of service licences will increase from R57,873 to R60,940.

Licence renewals will increase from R5,787 to R6,094.
