New ICASA councilors named

FMTech reported yesterday that Matsepe-Casaburri has selected economists Fungai Sibanda and Thabo Makhakhe, and lawyer Nomnuyiso Batyi as the new ICASA councilors.

They will fill posts left by Tracy Cohen and Zolisa Masiza who are leaving the regulator and another which became available.  Masiza will join Telkom while Cohen has not decided on her future plans yet.

According to FMTech ‘Masiza says he will be able to help Telkom work better with Icasa. He says the company’s approach to the authority needs to change from a “monopoly mind-set”.’
