Voice call price cuts in SA
Neotel and MTN announced today (1 March 2012) that they are reducing the price of their call rates. Neotel announced a mobile voice tariff price cut while MTN Business announced a fixed voice rate reduction.
“Neotel has continuously passed the benefit of reduced interconnection rates to its customers and with the latest adjustment, is moving to a single standard rate for calls to all mobile operators,” Neotel said in a press statement.
Neotel now offers a peak time call charge to all mobile operators of R1.05 [per minute] and an off-peak rate of R0.94 [per minute] including VAT.
Neotel has also cut their rates to Telkom number by 10%.
“We are committed to ensuring that pricing benefits are transferred to both consumers and businesses as far as possible, having brought our call charges down in response to every announced reduction in the interconnect rate by ICASA since 2010,” said Noel Studti, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, at Neotel.
