Acquisition for Local Telecoms Provider

ATEC Systems and Technologies, a national Cape-based IT service and infrastructure provider for the local property industry, has acquired SA Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

This move by ATEC sees it becoming major shareholder of the company which specialises in fibre optic and CAT5 network installations, server room setups, CCTV and access control installations.

“Among other service offerings, ATEC provides developers with the infrastructure to technologically-enable properties of all sizes through our proprietary e-State, e-Home and e-Secure product ranges. With its reputation for quality coupled with its specialist service offering, SA Technologies will enhance these ranges making them a welcome addition to the ATEC family,” says Gerhard Loots, CEO of ATEC Systems & Technologies.

Francois Geyser, SA Technologies spokesperson agrees. “This is an incredibly exciting time in the telecoms industry in South Africa rivalled perhaps only by the property industry. We confidently believe therefore that this joining of expertise, proficiency, skill and experience will take us to the very top of all network installation service providers.”

Loots moves on to explain that as a subsidiary company of ATEC, SA Technologies will continue to operate as a separate entity within the ATEC group and will continue to service its existing clients.

“Wired homes are the future particularly with the emergence of the triple play value proposition of next-generation Internet carrying voice, data and video. The local property market is becoming increasingly competitive and developers are turning to companies such as ours to help differentiate their developments through technology.

We are already experiencing a marked increase in demand for our products. This acquisition enables us to meet that demand while delivering a level of quality that has become synonymous with the ATEC name,” concludes Loots.
