The CEF has published the official petrol price for South Africa, which will kick in on 3 October 2018.
Petrol (95) will go up by R1.00 per litre, bringing the price to R17.08 in Gauteng.
Diesel has also gone up by R1.24 per litre, stated the CEF.
“The rand depreciated against the US dollar during the period under review, on average, when compared to the previous period. The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period 31 August 2018 to 27 September 2018 was 14.78 compared to 13.94 during the previous period,” it stated.
“This led to a higher contribution to the basic fuel prices on petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin.”
The new fuel prices are listed below.
- Petrol 95 Gauteng – R17.08
- Petrol 95 Coast – R16.49
- Diesel 0.05% – R15.65
- Diesel 0.005% – R15.69
- Petrol 93 Gauteng – R16.85
