Microsoft working on “Super Wi-Fi”
Microsoft has partnered with D-Link to work on faster Wi-Fi connections for rural communities, according to a report by ZDNet.
D-Link chairman John Hsuan said the “Super Wi-Fi” technology will be based on the 802.11af protocol.
It will exploit unused bandwidth in the lower-frequency white spaces between television channel frequencies, stated the report.
Trials of the new Wi-Fi will start in the USA, with plans to expand them to three more countries.
