{"id":100132,"date":"2014-04-07T10:49:26","date_gmt":"2014-04-07T08:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=100132"},"modified":"2014-04-07T14:01:58","modified_gmt":"2014-04-07T12:01:58","slug":"massive-increase-in-data-bundle-purchases-fnb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/banking\/100132-massive-increase-in-data-bundle-purchases-fnb.html","title":{"rendered":"Massive increase in data bundle purchases \u2013 FNB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First National Bank (<a title=\"FNB\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307757-FNB-First-National-Bank\">FNB<\/a>) has seen a 145% growth of data bundle purchases since 2012, the bank said in a press statement on Monday, 7 April 2014.<\/p>\n<p>According to FNB, this reflects a shift in mobile usage patterns towards data-driven smart devices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the advantage of selling across the entire spectrum of mobile operators which gives us an overview of buying patterns in the pre-paid mobile space,\u201d said <a title=\"Ravesh Ramlakan\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307755-Ravesh-Ramlakan\">Ravesh Ramlakan<\/a>, CEO of FNB Service Provider.<\/p>\n<p>While airtime continues to be FNB Service Provider\u2019s strongest pre-paid seller, data bundle purchases have risen sharply over the last three years, the bank said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2012 data bundles sales were only 6% of airtime sales.
