href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/212578-Akamai\">Akamai<\/a> content clusters and caching nodes on its Internet Protocol (IP) network footprint, the company announced in a press statement on Tuesday, 8 April 2014.<\/p>\n<p>According to Seacom, the nodes will accelerate and optimise HTTP content, rich media, downloadable files, video, music, software updates and other web content requested by operators and Internet service providers connected to Seacom\u2019s IP network.<\/p>\n<p>African end-users will in turn enjoy lower latency, faster speeds and more reliable service when accessing popular web services and content from around the world, Seacom said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAkamai\u2019s Accelerated Network Partnership with Seacom is an important part of Akamai\u2019s continued platform expansion strategy in Africa to improve reliability and performance for internet users across the continent,\u201d said Sabine Sitterli, senior director of network business development, Akamai EMEA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing content directly onto the African continent ensures Seacom provides the best and most comprehensive IP Transit offering to our
