Research In Motion has unveiled a new smartphone; the BlackBerry Bold 9700. The Bold 9700 is the successor to the popular Bold 9000, and targets the high-end of the smartphone market.<\/p>\n
The phone will be launched through both Vodacom and MTN, but no pricing or availability dates are yet known.<\/p>\n
Supporting 3G HSDPA networks, the smartphone features a 624 MHz processor, 256 MB memory, a 2.44” display (480×360@245ppi), GPS, Wi-Fi, and a 3.2MP camera. The optical trackpad which was introduced with the Curve 8520 will replace the original trackball.<\/p>\n
The 1500 mAhr battery provides approximately 6 hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time in 3G mode. The phone dimensions are 109mm x 60mm x 14.1mm, an overall slimming down from its predecessor. It weighs in at 122 grams, making it 14 grams lighter than the Bold 9000.<\/p>\n
