A number of websites on the Internet domain of the South African government (gov.za) were not responding on the morning of Wednesday, 30 April 2014.<\/p>\n

Among the websites affected are the government\u2019s main site (www.gov.za) and the Department of Communications (www.doc.gov.za).<\/p>\n

Some websites, including Treasury (treasury.gov.za) and the Department of Trade and Industry (www.thedti.gov.za), appeared to still be working.<\/p>\n

The State Information Technology Agency (Sita), which manages the domain, was not immediately available to comment on the downtime.<\/p>\n

Sita\u2019s domain (sita.co.za) was also not responding at the time of publication.<\/p>\n
