Vodacom is giving all of its subscribers 1GB of free data to use today (11 May 2014) as part of its twentieth birthday celebration. However, some Vodacom customers are reporting problems with the system.<\/p>\n
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, some Vodacom subscribers complained that their free data was not available.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust tried it. It’s not working. It says, \u2018Sorry, there’s no free 1GB bundle available\u2019,\u201d said one Vodacom subscriber.<\/p>\n
\u201c45 minutes into their \u2018birthday gift\u2019 and it still won’t register and\/or give any form of balance. I definitely don’t trust them,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n
The problem of \u2018missing data\u2019 seems to have been resolved, but some users are now complaining about slow speeds.<\/p>\n
\u201cRunning at 69KB per second \u2013 useless,\u201d said one user. \u201cHow long will it take for me to use up the Vodacom promotional 1GB today when all I have is an Edge signal?\u201d said another.<\/p>\n
Despite some negativity surrounding Vodacom\u2019s free 1GB promotion, many people thanked Vodacom for the initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpdating everything thanks to the 1GB free data from @Vodacom. TV, MacBook, iPad, PlayStation and phone are loving me,\u201d said a happy Vodacom customer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you Vodacom I have a Gig smile on my face,\u201d said another user on Twitter.<\/p>\n
