The phone is the flagship product for a new family of phones coming to market during the first half of 2010. The Xperia X10 will be available in Q1 2010. Pricing is not currently known.<\/p>\n<p>The Xperia X10 uses the Rachael Android UI, which runs on top of Android 1.6 (Donut). Sony is marketing the UI as the UX (User eXperience) platform. UX will be available on all of the new phones in the range, which are to be launched in early 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Signature Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The X10 will feature two new signature applications &ndash; Mediascape and Timescape. Mediascape is a media browsing app, for both phone and internet media. Timescape is a centralised social networking app that functions with Facebook and Twitter, photos, emails, and texts.<\/p>\n<p>Sony Ericsson&rsquo;s open approach gives consumers access to a variety of applications through stores such as PlayNow and the Android Market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intelligence capabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Intelligence capabilities, integrated into Mediascape and Timescape, automatically recognise connections between contacts, content and media. For example, pressing the &ldquo;infinite button&rdquo; guides you through the connected world, aggregating all your interactions with one person into one view.<\/p>\n<p>Face recognition features recognise up to five faces in any picture, automatically connecting them with your social phonebook and all other related communications with that person.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardware<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Powering the device is a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor, utilising 256MB of RAM. On board is 1GB of storage, which can be expanded with up to a 16GB microSD card. An 8GB microSD is included with the phone.<\/p>\n<p>The phone measures in at 119x63x13mm, and weighs 135g. The screen is a 262K colour, 4&rdquo; TFT capacitive touchscreen, with a 480&#215;854 resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the usual plethora of software, hardware and connectivity features one has come to expect from a top-of-the-line smartphone, the X10 also features an auto-focus 8.1 Megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom.<\/p>\n<p>The imaging software features face recognition, geo-tagging, smile detection, and touch focus.
