Over the last few weeks numerous Internet Service Providers (ISPs) announced new uncapped ADSL services which saw significant price cuts on a range of products. One of the most popular products is currently Vodacom Business’ uncapped 4 Mbps service which is offered by a number of ISPs.<\/p>\n
Openweb recently cut the price of the service to R2,699 per month, the same as a 1 Mbps Uncapped Express+ account (R2,699) and more affordable than an uncapped 1 Mbps account from Internet Solutions (R3,299). Shortly afterwards SAINET announced that they have launched their 4 Mbps Vodacom Business uncapped service at R2,599 all inclusive, undercutting Openweb’s price by R100.<\/p>\n
The latest ISP to launch an uncapped 4 Mbps service is Nexus ISP, offering its solution to subscribers at R2,499, undercutting competing ISPs. “Nexus ISP is delighted to announce that we have successfully secured a new contract with the South African Internet Exchange that will supply us with lower wholesale prices for ADSL bandwidth routed via the SAIX network. It therefore gives us great pleasure to inform you that these savings will be passed onto our customers,” the company said in an email.<\/p>\n
The company is confident that prices will continue to decrease. “We are currently in discussions with Internet Solutions (our second backbone provider) in a bid to secure cheaper bandwidth over their network which has recently integrated with the newly launched SEACOM cable and as such ISDSL based services are expected to decrease in price by Q1 of next year.”<\/p>\n
