Nokia has announced that South Africa is likely to see a local release of the Nokia N97 mini and the anticipated Nokia 3G Booklet in 2010.<\/p>\n
The company has however confirmed that the N900, Nokia’s new flagship smartphone, will not hit South African shelves.<\/p>\n
Nokia N97 mini<\/strong><\/p>\n The Nokia N97 mini is similar to the conventional N97 package in a number of ways but offers a more compact casing for users who prefer a less bulky handset.<\/p>\n The device features a 3.2 inch TFT resistive touch screen, 8GB of storage capacity with MicroSD support for up to 16GB as well as 3.6Mbps, HSDPA, EDGE and GPRS connectivity. It includes a 5 Megapixel camera with an LED flash and autofocus, A-GPS support through Nokia Maps and a 434 MHz ARM 11 processor.<\/p>\n No official pricing or release details have yet been given.<\/p>\n Nokia Booklet 3G<\/strong><\/p>\n The Nokia Booklet represents the manufacturer’s first move into the mobile PC market. The device features an Intel Atom Z530, 1.6GHz processor, a 120GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 10.1 inch display, HDMI 1.2 support, 3 USB connectors and an SD card reader.<\/p>\n In terms of wireless connectivity the Booklet 3G includes 802.11 b\/g\/n support, Bluetooth 2.1 and a built-in 3G modem.<\/p>\n No official pricing or release details have yet been given.<\/p>\n
