This price drop saw prepaid ADSL access rates decrease from 6.5c per MB to 4.9c per MB and during happy-hour (between 5pm and 8pm daily) decrease to 4.5c per MB from 4.7c per MB.

The company has now reduced its ADSL rates further, lowering the standard ADSL data rate from 4.9c per MB to 3.7 per MB and its happy hour rate from 4.5c per MB to 3.5c per MB. This data does not expire and is therefore slightly costlier than certain month-to-month offerings.

G-Connect has now launched a ‘limited edition’ 30-day broadband pass where bandwidth expires after 30 days. This new product means far lower bandwidth rates: 3G at 28c per MB, Wi-Fi at 30c per MB and ADSL from 2.2c per MB.This means that users can get up to 9GB of ADSL data at R200 per month.

These price cuts follow movements in the ADSL market by companies like Afrihost, MyISP, Screamer Telecoms and DigiChilli which all launched ADSL services at prices well below current market standards.

G-Connect ADSL – discussion

G-Connect cuts its ADSL prices to as low as 3.5c per MB; limited edition Broadband Pass launched to increase value proposition

[5

post-10716","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-adsl
